Pwyllgor Materion Cymreig – ymgysylltu â’r cyhoedd/Welsh Affairs Committee – public engagement roundtable

Published: Mon, 02/20/23

Circulating on behalf of the House of Commons Welsh Affairs Committee regarding a public engagement opportunity taking place in March this year. Please read the information below and let Select Committee Team know if this is something you would be interested in participating in and sharing amongst your network?

As part of a current inquiry on Broadcasting in Wales, the Welsh Affairs Committee want to consult with members of the public in North Wales to hear their views. A public engagement ‘roundtable’ is being organised in Llandudno where individuals will have the chance to speak directly with MPs and discuss the issues around this topic which they feel are most important to them.

Questions that MPs want to discuss include: Would you be able to help them spread awareness of this meeting among your network in order for us to source a group of participants who represent a range of views? They would greatly appreciate sharing this information as widely as possible in whatever way you can.
Date: Wednesday 8th March 2023
Time: 13.00pm – 3.30pm
This will be a private meeting held in-person at a venue in Llandudno. The meeting will be very much informal, and as such no specialist knowledge of the topic is required. Committee staff will be taking notes which will be written up as a summary and may be published – all contributions will be anonymised. Lunch will be provided to all those who participate.

How to register your interest
All individuals who wish to participate in this meeting are required to email them with a few lines of information about who they are and why they are interested in joining this meeting.
All who are interested in attending should email  selcomengagement@parliament.uk

Please note that a limited number of people are invited to this meeting and that emailing them does not guarantee a place. All those who emailed will be contacted to let them know if they are formally invited to join the public engagement roundtable.
How you can help promote this meeting
Please send on this email to all those you think might be interested in participating and encourage them to email  selcomengagement@parliament.uk
Attached to this email are some flyers created to help promote this meeting (in Welsh, in English, and in both languages), on your social media channels or share through any other channels available to you. To reach even more people, print off the flyer and display it so that people can read the information and contact them if they are interested in participating.
Please let them know if you would like them to print physical copies of the flyer and post them to you.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or wish to discuss this further, and they will be happy to respond by email or arrange a phone call if you would prefer.

Kind regards,
Select Committee Engagement Team
